Japanese blog, Drowning in Melancholy aka DIM, reviewed ‘Aitu’ by Melodyguild — the early 2000’s band of Suzanne Perry. This mini-feature gives a brief overview of the band’s origin as it compares the sound of this album vs Love Spirals Downwards’ work. Here is a partial transcription care of Google Translate.

Melodyguild ‘Aitu’ now on Bandcamp
At long last, ‘Aitu’ from Suzanne’s band, Melodyguild, is available on Bandcamp for your streaming and downloading pleasure. Check it out on the Projekt Bandcamp page.
A DJ in Los Angeles recently mentioned to me how much he loves this EP from Suzanne Perry – vocalist from Love Spirals Downwards. Hard to believe it’s been 12+ years since I released it on Projekt, but there ya go! Time…. time keeps on rushing bye.
Released in 2008 — the only post-FLUX release with her vocals on multiple tracks — AITU is a lovely shoegazer portent of a band that was never to be…

Melodyguild EP Released by Projekt
The long awaited debut album by Melodyguild — the band of Love Spirals Downwards’ vocalist, Suzanne Perry — has finally been released! The ‘Aitu’ EP — originally announced in early 2003 — will officially drop June 10th, but it’s available online now via Projekt. This 4-song digipac CD is currently #6 on the Projekt Top 10 – congrats!
Suzanne Perry on New Falling You CD Human
Love Spirals Downwards’ singer, Suzanne Perry, appears on one song of the latest Falling You album, Human. “An Angel Ameliorate” is very ambient and sad with Suzy’s classic glossolalia style lyrics. To the best of my knowledge, this is her first released work since Melodyguild’s cover of “Sally’s Song” on the Projekt Holiday Single 2. You can check out the track for free from Magnatune here.
UPDATE: this won Best Vocal Album of 2006 from New Age Reporter. Congrats!
The album is now available on Bandcamp!
